TEMPORAL CONTINGENCY
By Joseph R. Lallo
Big Sigma Series, 4
Read by John Forbes

Trevor “Lex” Alexander’s life has been less than blessed. In the past year he’s had to battle corrupt corporations, deranged techno-terrorists, and a robotic scourge. Now he’s received the opportunity to finally return to the racing career that had been cut short by some poor decisions. One could excuse him for not wanting to be embroiled in another insane adventure when he is so close to returning to his life’s calling. Sometimes the call of duty will not be denied. Karter Dee, a certified lunatic responsible for many of Lex’s recent woes, has discovered a threat on an unprecedented scale. He and Ma, his AI caretaker, know their plan to solve the problem will take a special mixture of competence, improvisation, and disregard for personal safety. Reluctance aside, Lex is the only man for the job. Even with the skilled pilot on the team, the scope of the problem has grown so massive that it may be unsolvable in its current state. Some would consider the situation hopeless, but any good engineer knows if you can’t find a solution, you have to change the problem. To give human society a chance at a future, Lex, Karter, and Ma, will have to venture into the past.

ALONG WINDING TRAILS
By Eunice Boeve
The Ryder Series, 2
Read by Mara Lynne Thomas

Joshua Ryder ashamed of being an outlaw's son and convinced he carries bad blood, leaves Texas in the spring of 1876 with a trail herd of longhorns bound for Montana. The following spring, he heads west with plans to settle near the Pacific Ocean and live in solitude with just his books and his horses for company. But a Nez Perce woman and her baby change his plans and he ends up in Virginia City, Montana. There an old washerwoman, a small half Chinese girl, and a young woman with red curls further complicate his life. When he is framed for murder Josh weighs his options. If he runs far enough and fast enough he can probably shake the law. If he stays and tries to clear his name, undoubtedly, he'll hang. Either way, he will lose the respect of those he's come to love.

Martha Rawlins, the widowed ranch owner and her children, accompany the herd and she teaches Josh to read and write while on the trail. He becomes friends with the Rawlins' son, falls in love with the older daughter, and adores her little sister, Kit. Another tragedy again changes the course of Josh's life and he heads back to Texas to hunt down the man who murdered his mother.

JUSTICE FOR FREDDIE
By Gerry Gotro
Read by Rusty Nelson

Psychopaths are numerous in our world and once in a long while one stands out above all others. Andrew Corbett, an American businessman, was just such a man, a killer.  Freddie was a decent hard-working guy, a bush pilot trying to give his family a little dignity and it cost him his life. When his friends tried to find him in the Canadian Wilderness six more men died before they found "Justice for Freddie." This story is loosely based on a series of true incidents that took place in northern Canada in years gone by.

By Connie Shelton
A Charlie Parker Mystery, Book 16
Read by Rebecca Cook
Charlie's brother, Ron, is ready for the happiest day of his life when he will marry long-time girlfriend Victoria Morgan. Charlie will be matron of honor, her husband Drake the best man. But when Charlie stops by the bride's house to pick her up for the ceremony, the place is in disarray and Victoria is missing. And Ron has no proof of where he was the night before, after he and his fiancée had a terrible argument. Was the fight nothing more than pre-wedding jitters, as Ron claims? Or did the unthinkable happen? Things go from bad to worse when the media jumps on the story and the police treat Ron as a suspect. However, as usual, the answers are not quite so simple.
