Born in New York, he made his professional acting debut at the age of 12 in a touring company of “Life With Father.” His film career began in 1954 when he signed a contract with MGM.  His most well-known role came in the series, “The Virginian.” He was also in the award-winning Sam Peckinpah film “Ride the High Country.”
