Her early success in life led to an Oscar as Best Supporting Actress for the movie The Miracle Worker. She went onto star in more television and movie roles. As an early advocate and patient of mental issues, her lifelong struggle to overcome the daily fight to press forward became a beacon of hope to many who also suffer from mental issues.
